Have you wondered what kind of schedule our racers are keeping? Here’s a little look into what their days and nights have been looking like.
The 4 riders are split into two shifts – green and gold. For instance, The green shift will ride for 5-6 hours, and then get a 5-6 hour break. When they are on the riding shift, the guys rotate, similar to a relay. One guy will ride 5 miles (+/-, dpepending on the terrain, weather and wind), while the other rider rides in the sprinter. The sprinter stays in their general area, and when the 5 mile ride is up, they pull the rider and their bike, and they switch off. After their shift, the sprinter van goes back to the RV to pick the gold shift. During their break, they shower, get massaged, eat and rest. This is a 24/7 cycle. The riders are going strong, and keeping hydrated and nourished.
